This Art work looks into one of the occupations found in Igbo society. It is a sculptural work that expresses the industriousness of an Igbo man. He is never lazy about his duties and he ensures there’s food on the table daily, for his immediate family. Day by day he is seen either going to work or stationed at his working place.
The Igbo man believes there’s so much for the harvest if one truly works harder, this is the reason he takes every risk and doesn’t slumber, all in hope for a plenteous harvest. The various occupation of Igbo people include: farming, hunting, crafting, fishing, trading and so on.
